Modern Woodmen of America members across the country completed online fundraising efforts as part of Giving Tuesday – the annual day of giving held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Giving Tuesday inspires people to complete acts of kindness and encourages charitable giving in local communities during the holiday season.
The fundraisers, which took place in Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin, benefited local schools in members’ communities. See a full list of the fundraisers and the schools they helped.
With help from Modern Woodmen’s headquarters, the member-run fundraisers were a success. A total of $17,083 was raised. Money raised will help fulfill various needs at each school including, new instruments for a music program, new sports equipment for athletics departments, supplies for classrooms and playground equipment.
“It’s heartwarming to see communities come together for such worthy causes,” says Modern Woodmen’s fraternal director, Keri Rursch. “This program was designed to explore how Modern Woodmen can support those who want to create a lasting impact in schools. Together with members across the country, we’re helping shape a brighter future for students across the country.”
Modern Woodmen of America was founded in 1883 to clear financial burdens – not trees. As a fraternal financial services organization, Modern Woodmen’s products and programs support financial security, quality family life and community impact – the common bonds that unite our members nationwide.
