Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island, Illinois, has appointed Dr. Ahmed F. Okba, Moline, Illinois, as its chief medical officer and senior vice president, effective June 1.
Dr. Okba began his work with Modern Woodmen in 2009 as medical director for the fraternal financial services organization’s Underwriting Department. He previously served as chief medical utilization officer, chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and board member for UnityPoint - Trinity. He continues to practice internal medicine with Medical Arts Associates, Ltd., Moline, Illinois.
Dr. Okba earned his doctorate in medicine from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He holds his MBA from St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa, and a Master of Science in risk and insurance from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana.
His professional designations include Diplomate, American Board of Insurance Medicine; Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine; Diplomate, American Board of Clinical Lipidology; and Fellow, American College of Physicians. He has also earned the Chartered Life Underwriter designation.
Dr. Okba is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Insurance Medicine.
