Looking to continue your education?
Modern Woodmen awards up to $125,000 each year to help members continue their education in a program of their choosing ... no matter their age. That includes current college students, those who took a gap year after high school, adults wanting to go back to school or obtain a master’s degree, and more. (See specific qualifications below.)
Up to 50 grants of $2,500 each awarded to qualified members on a first-come, first served basis!
How do I qualify?
To be eligible for the continuing education grant, you must:
- Be a Modern Woodmen member, covered by Modern Woodmen life insurance or an annuity for at least one year as of the February application deadline.*
- Be a high school graduate (or equivalent) who graduated at least one year prior to the application deadline.
- Plan to do one of the following for the upcoming fall term:

- Explain how your education plans will make a greater impact in at least one of these areas (the common bonds that unite Modern Woodmen members nationwide):

*The life insurance certificate must be on a premium-paying basis or must be paid-up according to the terms of the certificate, other than through use of the nonforfeiture option. The annuity must be a Modern Woodmen fixed or variable annuity.
Awards are not renewable. However, you can reapply to the program each year you meet eligibility requirements with these exceptions:
- Recipients can’t receive the award more than twice in a five-year period.
- Scholarship competition winners must allow a gap year before applying for a grant.
- Modern Woodmen employees (including current and retired field representatives) are ineligible. Family members, including spouses and children, are eligible.
